The Oromocto Legion Branch 93 hoisted the poppy flag on Friday, October 28, 2023, signalling the start of the Poppy Campaign. Distinguished guests were present to show their recognition, including representatives from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Base Gagetown.

The poppy is traditionally worn from the last Friday of October until Remembrance Day on November 11th. The Royal Canadian Legion orchestrates the event annually, in recognition of the sacrifice, dedication, and bravery of those who served before us.

With Remembrance Day drawing near, the wearing of the poppy honors the countless sacrifices of those who have served. For current members, it also a time to contemplate the significance of service and the ongoing commitment to safeguard Canada and our interests.
