As part of the Government of Canada’s support to OP REASSURANCE, several military vehicles were loaded and transported for shipment to Latvia from 5th Canadian Division Support Base (5 CDSB) Gagetown on February 13, 2024.
Dozens of vehicles are being shipped from 5 CDSB Gagetown to Latvia, including an assortment of medium support vehicle systems, light utility/support vehicles, light armoured vehicles, and trailers.
Op REASSURANCE is currently the Canadian Armed Forces’ (CAF) largest oversees mission. Through Op REASSURANCE, the CAF contributes to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by providing assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe.
As the political situation in Europe becomes increasingly complex, Op REASSURANCE plays a crucial role in strengthening our bonds with NATO allies and provides confidence in our ability to support them.
