The Department of National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) is happy to announce the first graduating class of Cyber Operators from the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE).

On 07 September 2021, 11 CFSCE graduates became the first group of Cyber Operators that have been fully trained as members of the Cyber Operator occupation.

This is an important milestone for DND/CAF as it marks a critical phase of DND/CAF’s commitment to SSE initiative 89 to “Grow and enhance the cyber force by creating a new Canadian Armed Forces Cyber Operator occupation to attract Canada’s best and brightest talent and significantly increase the number of military personnel dedicated to cyber functions.”

Following the training that included 60 weeks at Willis College and 12 weeks at CFSCE, all of the graduates are excited to be posted to the Canadian Forces Network Operation Centre where they will begin working as Cyber Defence Analysts.

They will support the Sea, Land and Air elements through the analysis of DND/CAF networks. In their roles, they will be identifying indicators of compromise, collecting, examining, analyzing cyber alerts, and creating technical reports on cyber alerts.

Congratulations to the graduates on this accomplishment and thank you for your dedication in support of DND/CAF.

Bravo Zulu!
